While many SUVs try to imitate it, the Jeep Wrangler is the original go-anywhere and do-anything vehicle, and the 2021 version might be its best iteration yet. Much of the reason why the Wrangler has been a fan favorite over the years is its superior off-road prowess combined with the powerful engines. This year the Wrangler gives you a few new surprises. For starters, the Wrangler 4xe uses the turbocharged four-cylinder and engine and combines it with several hybrid elements to output 375 horsepower. There is also a Rubicon 392 that adds a 6.4-liter V8 engine to the mix. While all this power is excellent, the Wrangler also has a ton of tech and superior cabin materials to make it a well-rounded SUV. Four trim levels are available for the 2021 Wrangler. Continue reading as we go over what each one offers.
Sport
With the Sport, you can choose several engine options, just like all other trims. Standard is a potent 3.6-liter V6 that makes 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the engine comes with an eTorque system which improves the Wrangler’s fuel economy. You can pair this engine with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Optional is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that pumps out 270 horsepower or a diesel-powered V6 with an astonishing 442 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines pair with the eight-speed automatic transmission that gives you a smooth ride. Later this year, Wrangler drivers can expect the 4xe hybrid, which uses the turbocharged four-cylinder and adds hybrid elements to make a blistering 375 horsepower and up to 25 miles of all-electric range. Features for the Sport include 17-inch steel wheels, skid plates, tow hooks, foglights, and a 5-inch touchscreen. There is also a Willy’s sub trim for the Sport, adding four-wheel disk brakes, limited-slip rear differential, and all-weather floor mats.

The Altitude version of the Sport S brings even more fun features such as upgraded off-road suspension and black interior and exterior accents. There are even a few optional packages, including an LED headlamp group.

Sahara
At the midway point of the Wrangler’s trim lineup is the Sahara, which comes with a full-time four-wheel drive, automatic climate control, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, the Sahara has two sub-trims known as the Altitude and the High Altitude, which add more impressive features such as leather seats and all of the Sport S Altitude features. Meanwhile, the High Altitude brings 20-inch wheels with all-season tires, a sport-tuned suspension, parking sensors, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and an upgraded infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
