A new engine is introduced to the Ram 1500 lineup for the 2025 model year, replacing the outgoing V8 engines. The new Hurricane engine is a 3.0L twin-turbocharged straight-six engine. While most of the regular Ram 1500 lineup features a standard output variant of the new Hurricane engine, the Ram 1500 RHO comes with the high-output version. This puts out V8 power levels with fewer emissions and better fuel economy by removing two cylinders and adding forced air induction. Offering 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. This translates into a top speed of 118 MPH, matching that of the outgoing TRX. Meanwhile, the TRX’s 0-60 time is just one-tenth of a second faster than the RHO’s 4.6 second time. The all-new Ram 1500 RHO stands out from the pack with an exclusive design that is instantly recognizable. Most notably, you’ll notice it to be taller and wider than the regular Ram 1500 with 11.8 inches of ground clearance courtesy of Bilstein Black Hawk e2 shock absorbers and massive all-terrain tires. Meanwhile, the fender flares are stretched over the large tires, adding eight inches to the Ram 1500’s overall width, while the track is increased by six inches. In addition to the shocks, the RHO comes with a BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case with upgraded internals for enhanced durability and strength, allowing the truck to overcome any off-road terrain or inclement weather conditions. While the transfer case has an auto mode, drivers can also manually select between 4-high and 4-low, as well as neutral for flat towing, at the push of a button. When necessary, the high-speed rear E-Locker can be engaged to provide total rear axle engagement while tackling tough terrain. This maximizes traction and stability by spinning both rear wheels simultaneously. The RHO also features a total of nine drive modes, including Auto, Baja, Custom, Mud/Sand, Rock, Snow, Sport, Tow, and Valet, to optimize performance for the selected driving situation.
