Engine Options for the 2022 Wrangler
Several options are available for the Wrangler, and each is potent and perfect for off-roading. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out an outstanding 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and can pair with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. After this engine, several options are available. The first is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, and it’s available on all versions of the Wrangler. The next few engines are only available on the four-door versions of the Wrangler. The first option is a diesel-powered and turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 which pumps out 260 horsepower and a spectacular 442 lb-ft of torque. Do you want a touch more power? Then you also have the option of a 6.4-liter V8 that kicks out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. All of these engines pair exclusively with the eight-speed automatic transmission. Finally, the hybrid engine known as the 4xe comes with a battery pack and two electric engines while using a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as a base. The net result is 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque which is among the best in the class.
