What engine is under the hood of the Grand Wagoneer?

The Grand Wagoneer comes standard with a potent 6.4L V8 engine capable of kicking out 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is rated to tow up to 10,000lbs when fitted with the available Trailer Tow Package. The V8 engine is mated to Jeep’s reliable TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. For drivetrains, the Grand Wagoneer is available with three available 4×4 systems. Standard is Quadra-Trac I which features a single-speed transfer case to instantly redistribute torque to the axle with the most traction when the system detects wheel slip. Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II feature a two-speed transfer case with 4-Low mode for low-speed traction control. Quadra-Drive II provides the best possible road grip with an electronic limited-slip rear differential. The 4×4 systems can be controlled by Selec-Terrain traction management with Auto, Sport, Rock, and Sand/Mud modes on a rotary dial on the center console.

The Grand Wagoneer’s safety starts with its body-on-frame design. The body sits on a high-strength steel frame fabricated to draw impact energy away from the cabin.
