The 2021 Ram 1500 features Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection that scans blind spot zones beside and behind your vehicle, Electronic Stability Control to help retain control of brakes and engine power, Electronic Roll Mitigation to help keep your truck centered as you move and Hill Start Assist to retain braking pressure if you need to start up when stopped in gear on a steep grade.

SMART BRAKING TECHNOLOGY

Command your truck with serious stopping power. Available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking (FCW+) helps mitigate potential collisions while giving drivers more time to react. FCW+ can bring the vehicle to a full stop, if necessary. Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go (ACC+) detects vehicles ahead. If increased braking is needed in slower traffic, ACC+ will automatically apply the brakes to a set distance.

Can you talk about the features found in the Ram 1500 lineup?

Drivers have seven Ram 1500 trim levels to choose from. The lineup starts off with the Tradesman which is outfitted with a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, air conditioning, a 5-inch touchscreen, 18-inch steel wheels, trailer sway damping, and a 6-speaker audio system. The upper trims quickly build on that with features like larger touchscreen options, LED lighting, smartphone integration, side steps, navigation, rear underseat storage, a four-corner air suspension, leather upholstery, and so much more! The TRX trim sets itself apart with a long list of advanced off-roading oriented features.

Could you go over the engine options?

Four engines make up the Ram 1500’s powertrain lineup. Each of the four engines is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and both RWD and 4WD configurations are offered. The first engine, equipped with Ram’s eTorque technology for enhanced fuel economy, is a 3.6L V6 that generates 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The next engine, offered with or without the eTorque technology, is a 5.7L V8 that produces 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. There is also a diesel engine option, a 3,0L turbodiesel V6 that delivers 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. The fourth and final engine is only found under the hood of the TRX trim. This 6.2L supercharged V8 pumps out 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

What about the safety features offered for the 2021 model year?

The Ram 1500 is not only outfitted with modern technology and convenience features and immense power but it also comes with a host of advanced safety features and driver aids to protect every passenger inside. Throughout the lineup, safety features include forward collision mitigation that can warn the driver of an impending collision and intervene, braking on their behalf and blind-spot monitoring that alerts the driver to vehicles that they may not be able to see in their blind spot. There is an available Advanced Safety Group that adds lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a surround view camera system.
