The Renegade has a pair of engine options for 2017. The base engine, standard in the Sport and Latitude, is a turbocharged 1.4-liter four cylinder. The other engine, optional on the Sport and Latitude, but standard on the Limited and Trailhawk, is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder. Both the engines have the option of four-wheel drive and front-wheel drive, except the Trailhawk only comes with four-wheel drive. The base engine has a fuel economy of 27 mpg combined with front- and four-wheel drive. The top engine has a fuel economy of 25 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and the four-wheel drive has 24 mpg combined. The Renegades with four-wheel drive has a selectable drive modes for different terrains. When the Trailer Tow package is added to a model with 2.4-liter engine and 4WD it can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
Design of Jeep Renegade
This subcompact crossover SUV has four trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The Renegade has a rugged and signature look you won't forget. It gets fog lamps that help when visibility is low, deep-tinted glass, and an available wraparound black roof to give it an even more sleek look. There is an open-air, dual-panel sunroof that can be retracted or removed completely. The panels are stored flat in a height-adjustable rear cargo area. It is also designed for all conditions with windshield wiper de-icer, a capless fuel filler, and heated mirrors. There are up to 70 security and safety features available and standard. The standard features are anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and seven airbags including a driver-side inflatable knee bolster airbag, full-length front and rear side-curtain airbags, multistage driver and front passenger airbags, and seat-mounted side airbags for front occupants.
